The New Pornographers are working on something new.  Singer Neko Case tells "Billboard" they're making progress on their sixth studio album, which, when released, will mark their first full-length since 2010's "Together."  Case says the new stuff sounds good, and she's excited to be back with the band.  Case has been spending most of her time focusing on her upcoming solo album, "The Worse Things Get, the Harder I Fight, the Harder I Fight, the More I Love You."  The mouthful of a record is due out in September, and the New Pornographers' set will come out sometime after that.

Case says she doesn't have any idea what the final release date will be, which is just fine with her.  She admits that it's "really freeing" to "just be an instrument" in the band rather than the person who has to make all the final decisions.
