Pastor Robert Jeffress Gets Apology From Utah Lawmaker

The Utah lawmaker running against Mitt Romney in the Utah GOP Senate primary is apologizing to a Texas pastor criticized by his opponent.  State Representative Mike Kennedy says he called Southern Baptist Pastor Robert Jeffress last week to apologize on behalf of all Utahns.  Kennedy said yesterday that he wanted to show that the people of Utah don't believe that everyone who opposes the Mormon faith is a bigot.  Romney had criticized the selection of Jeffress to give a prayer at the opening of the new U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem, calling him a religious bigot for making critical comments about Jews and Mormons.
