North Carolina Couple Wanted For Murder On The Run, Likely In The Mountains

A North Carolina couple wanted for murder are on the run after a fatal shooting at a Hickory furniture plant last month. Police believe Tangela and Eric Parker could still be in the area, but it is likely they have made their way to the Smoky Mountains. The search also extends to the entire East Coast.

"I think there's a good chance they're somewhere in the mountain area — maybe even closer to the border between Tennessee or North Carolina side — but I think there is definitely a possibility that they are still in this area," said U.S. Marshal Deputy Commander Brian Alfano.

The Parkers are wanted in connection to the January 13 shooting death of Phelifia Marlow. According to FOX 46, investigators believe 49-year-old Tangela Parker shot and killed Marlow, a coworker at the furniture plant. She is wanted for first-degree murder while her husband, 61-year-old Eric Parker, is wanted for accessory after the fact to first-degree murder.

The couple were last seen driving a beige 2019 Honda CRV with the license plate FAM5669. Alfano believes they may change the license plate to avoid detection, the news outlet reports.

The U.S. Marshals are offering a reward up to $10,000 for information that leads to the Parkers arrest. To submit a tip, call 877-WANTED2 or visit the U.S. Marshals' website here.
