Honda is recalling over 205,000 SUVs due to concerns about potential fuel leaks, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The recall affects specific models of the 2023 and 2024 Passport, as well as 2023 to 2025 Pilot vehicles. The NHTSA notice, released on Thursday (December 5), states that the issue involves the separation of the fuel filler neck tube and fuel filler pipe, which could lead to fuel leaks. Such leaks, when near an ignition source, pose a fire risk.

Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, repair the affected fuel filler necks and pipes at no cost to the vehicle owners. Owners of the affected vehicles will receive notification letters by January 6, 2025. In the meantime, they can contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 for more information. The recall is identified by Honda with the number OKM.

The recall was initiated after the NHTSA received consumer complaints.

You can check to see if your car is under recall by going to nhtsa.gov/recalls and entering your 17-digit vehicle identification number.
