The play-by-play announcer for both UNC football and men's basketball , Durham died in his Chapel Hill home from complications of Primary Progressive Aphasia, a neurocognitive disease that robbed him of his ability to speak.
Durham, a 1963 graduate of UNC, became Voice of the Tarheels in 1971 and enjoyed a long 40 year career before he retired in 2011. He was a fan favorite that will be missed.
