Winter Weather Advisory for the Triangle

With the snow fall last night and since temperatures won't be rising anytime soon, a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for most of Triangle Area through Saturday morning:

...Snow, and consequent hazardous travel conditions, will affect  portions of central and eastern North Carolina through Thursday  morning...  

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST  SATURDAY...  

* WHAT...A Winter Weather Advisory for black ice is in effect.  

* WHERE...Portions of central North Carolina.  

* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Saturday.  

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel will be hazardous due to black ice.  The cold wind chills will cause frostbite in as little as 30  minutes to exposed skin.  PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...  

A Winter Weather Advisory for black ice means that travel will  remain hazardous due to ice and compacted snow on roadways.  Motorists are urged to use caution regardless of time of day  because temperatures will remain at or below freezing through the  daytime hours. The latest road conditions for North Carolina can  be found online at DriveNC.gov

The NCDOT has also issued several warnings to drivers asking them to stay off the roads"
