EASTERN CAROLINA (WITN) - Some roads are impassable because of high water and downed trees and power lines.
The road before the first bridge towards Harkers Island is in danger of completely washing out, according to Carteret County Sheriff Asa Buck.
Here is a county-by-county list of road issues as of 10 a.m. Friday.
Beaufort CountyUS-264 near NC-99 in Beaufort County In Pantego is impassable in both directions.
Carteret CountyThe northbound lane of the Harkers Island Bridge near Branch Dr. is partially washed out from tidal surge.
NC-12 (Cedar Island Rd) near US-70, east of Beaufort is impassable. The road is overtopped by tidal flooding.
US-70 near SR-1332 (Harkers Island Rd), east of Beaufort is impassable. US-70 is over topped by tidal flooding at numerous locations between Beaufort and Atlantic.
Craven CountyUS-17 near SR-1224 (Dry Monia Rd) in River Bend is flooded.
Hyde CountyUS-264 near SR-1138 (Rose Bay Loop), west of Swan Quarter is impassable.
Jones County NC-58, south of Maysville is closed with a tree down.
