Son Charged With Murder Of Couple Found Dead After Missing For Two Months

The son of a missing Johnston County couple found dead on Sunday after being believed to have been missing for two months has reportedly been charged in relation to their deaths.

Stephen Boggs Jr., 53, was found and arrested at a hotel in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, ABC 11 reports. Boggs was charged with the concealment death of his parents, Stephen Boggs Sr. and Brenda Boggs after being taken to the Horry County Detention Center and will be charged with murder once he is extradited to Johnston County.

Stephen Boggs Sr. and Brenda Boggs were reportedly found shot to death inside a home in Selma at around 3:00 p.m., the Johnson County Sheriff's Office told ABC 11. The couple was believed to have been dead for a "considerable period of time," according to the sheriff's office.

Police said the family dog was also found dead during the investigation, ABC 11 reports.

Authorities located Stephen Boggs Jr. in Myrtle Beach after investigators noticed activity on his parents' bank account, ABC 11 reports.

Neighbors reportedly tried to contact Stephen Boggs Sr. and Brenda Boggs numerous times during recent months and some reported seeing Stephen Boggs Jr. at their home regularly, but Boggs Jr. was not reported to be seen at the home by neighbors during the days leading up to his arrest, the Johnson County Sheriff's Office confirmed to ABC 11.

The investigation into the case of Stephen Boggs Sr. and Brenda Boggs' deaths is ongoing.
