WWE Superstar Andrade Granted Release From Company

WWE superstar Andrade has been granted his release from the company.

"WWE has come to terms on the release of Andrade. We wish him all the best in all of his future endeavors," the company shared on its official website Sunday (March 21) night.

On Monday (March 22), Andrade expressing his gratitude for his time with the company.

"I want to thank @TripleH, @HeymanHustle and @RealKingRegal for all these years and great support that they gave me all these years also to the fans who were always supporting me, a big hug to all the talent and workers who always behaved kindly to me."

Wrestling Inc initially reported Andrade, whose real name is Manuel Alfonso Andrade Oropeza, asked for his release backstage at the live broadcast of 'RAW' at Tropicana Stadium earlier this month.

Many wrestling fans speculated Andrade was leaving WWE on prior to the report after noticing he dropped "WWE" from his Twitter handle, which led to his name trending on social media, as well as including "wrestler" in his Twitter bio instead of "WWE Superstar."

Andrade also shared a photo of himself in Orlando prior to the report with the caption, “Si no te gusta donde estás muévete no eres un árbol! Feliz fin de semana! If you don’t like where you are, move you are not a tree. Great weekend! #andrade #elidolo #outfit #style #estilo #salud #weekend.”

Andrade hasn't appeared on WWE television since the 2020 WWE Draft in October. He has since taken time off to undergo a minor surgical procedure and was initially reported to be out of action for about a month.

The Gomez Palacio, Mexico never officially selected to 'RAW' or 'SmackDown' during the draft and WWE has provided no additional updates on his status.

Andrade is a former United States and NXT champion, while also having ranked No. 13 among the top 500 singles wrestlers in the PWI 500 in 2018, during his time in WWE.

Prior to signing with WWE in 2015, Andrade found global success under the ring name "La Sombra," which included a decorated run in Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre in his native Mexico, as well as competing in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, as one of the founding members of the group 'Los Ingobernables.'

Andrade is also engaged to 11-time Women's Champion (4 'RAW,' 5 SmackDown and 2 NXT) Charlotte Flair, the daughter of two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair.
