A Texarkana man, Demarqeyun Cox, 33, was arrested on Tuesday (March 26) after allegedly damaging multiple Tesla vehicles using a mini four-wheeler. According to the Texarkana Police Department, Cox was caught on surveillance footage from the Golden Palace restaurant on Summerhill Road, intentionally ramming a parked Tesla at full speed.
While police were searching for Cox, additional reports of Tesla damage came in from the Lowe’s parking lot and Genesis Prime Care on College Drive. Officer Blake Lummus spotted Cox riding a mini four-wheeler near Summerhill and New Boston Roads, recognized him from the video, and took him into custody after Cox initially provided a false name.
Cox is currently charged with one count of felony criminal mischief and failure to identify, and is being held in the Bi-State Jail. His bond is set at $105,000. Fox News reported that police are investigating whether Cox is responsible for the other incidents, which could lead to additional charges.
