One of Raleigh's most energetic nightlife venues, PLUS Dueling Piano Bar, will close its doors next month after entertaining patrons for seven years in the city's vibrant Glenwood Avenue district.
The popular establishment, known for its interactive musical performances featuring two opposing pianos, will host a farewell tour on weekends only until its final night on Friday, March 14, 2026. Owner Tony Basford has compared the lively atmosphere at PLUS to the bar featured in the movie "Cocktail," highlighting the dynamic shows that kept customers coming back.
PLUS has been a staple in Raleigh's nightlife scene, earning rave reviews from patrons who praised both the entertainment and atmosphere. According to the bar's official website, customers consistently praised the talented musicians, with one reviewer noting, "Those guys REALLY know how to play music. If you request it, they will play it."
The venue has been popular for private events, including birthday celebrations, corporate gatherings, and bachelorette parties. While the physical location is closing, management has hinted that PLUS may continue to operate in some capacity for private events in the future.
Until its closure, PLUS continues to offer food, cocktails, and live entertainment. The bar is currently promoting Super Bowl watch parties and taking reservations through OpenTable for its final weeks of operation.
