A former top campaign aide claims former President Joe Biden "totally f**ked" former Vice President Kamala Harris' 2024 presidential election bid by refusing to end his own re-election campaign sooner.

David Plouffe, who served as a key adviser for Harris' presidential campaign, blamed her loss squarely on Biden in a new book co-authored by CNN anchor Jake Tapper that's excerpt was obtained and shared by the Guardian. Plouffe, who had previously worked as a senior adviser during former President Barack Obama's administration when Biden served as vice president, called Harris' 107-day campaign against President Donald Trump a "f**king nightmare" in the excerpt.

“And it’s all Biden,” Plouffe told the authors. “He totally f**ked us.”

Plouffe said he flagged calls from concerned donors regarding Biden's mental health and physical ability following his disastrous performance in the first presidential debate but was repeatedly told that the incumbent could still win the 2024 election, while the White House insisted that Biden was in good health at the time. The former president eventually ended his re-election campaign last July, which Plouffe claimed he and other aides believed spoiled Harris' chances.

“I love Joe Biden. When it comes to decency, there are few in politics like him. Still, it was a disservice to the country and to the party for his family and advisers to allow him to run again,” a senior aide was quoted as saying in the book via the Guardian.

“It was an abomination. He stole an election from the Democratic party; he stole it from the American people,” a prominent Democratic strategist added.
